We "married" first in 1993...
...though we actually met the year before, via a personals ad. We started as friends, but within months were seeing each other. In the summer of 1993, we moved into a one-bedroom apartment on Dolores Street.
On September 22, we went to City Hall and signed a piece of paper registering us as domestic partners within city limits. It was at the time one of the few places in the country that had gender-neutral domestic partnership laws, and was the greatest degree of legality we could afford our relationship.
We were just 23 years old.
TRAVEL

Travel factored into our relationship from the beginning.
When we had been dating just a few months, we went to Washington DC for the AIDS Quilt display.
We're always eager to hit the road, alone or with friends, be it Italy or Spain, or hitting the beach in Mexico, or exploring the wonders of our own beautiful state.
We are currently working on visiting our remaining states before we turn 50.

2003
We "married" the second time in 2003...
...at Mailboxes, Etc. We sent a notarized piece of paper to Sacramento, making us officially registered domestic partners in the state of California. Then we had lunch downtown, and went back to work.
We did travel to England and Scotland that spring with our friends Sally and Lisa to celebrate our mutual 10th anniversaries.
2007

Reese
On Good Friday, 2007, we brought home our Manchester terrier mix, Reese. She was the love of our lives until she passed in 2016.

2008

We married, without air quotes, in 2008...
...at our friends' house in Hillsborough. The next day we took a group of people to our favorite winery in Carneros, Bouchaine.
It was a beautiful weekend, and the happiest of our life.

2016
Giro
A couple of months after we lost Reese, we brought home Giro. He was listed as a Jack Russell terrier, but certainly doesn't act like one.
He's a good boy.
There've been a few parties along the way...
...Mardi Gras, Spring Frolic, Derby Day, New Year's Day BLT, Pride, and countless dinners big and small.
